Music Ministry

The music ministry at St Hilary's & St Silas Church exists principally to help people worship our great God through music. Other roles our music may fulfill include encouraging one another in our faith and being reminded of Biblical truths. These aims are encompassed in our Music Statement:-

"Worship" involves our whole lives being given over to God in service and adoration. As one aspect of worship, the role of music in our gatherings is to help us to engage with and to adore God, who is revealed in Jesus Christ and who is present with us through His Spirit, to encourage one another and to be reminded of Biblical truth.

To be involved in the music ministry, the first step is to contact the Music Minister, Shaun Islip (shauni@shaccommunity.org.au), to arrange an informal audition. Following this, you may be placed either with a regular band or in the reserve "pool" for one or more Services. There are currently three regular bands per Service, each of which is rostered on once every three weeks. Rehearsal times are set by the band/worship leader for each band. If however you're placed in one of the "pools", you may be asked on an occasional basis to help out as the need arises for stand-by/replacement players/singers.
