Prayer

Prayer is the heartbeat of our Christian life at St Hilary's & St Silas Church and it is expressed in many and varied ways.

Intentionally in our own times of quiet, reading and reflection.

Spontaneously, while chatting, over coffee after church, during a phone call, in a note of encouragement. There are many settings, so many ways.

In our small groups, supporting one another and bringing our common concerns to our God.

Prayer as a whole community, during our congregational times together and when a collective prayer time is planned.

Congregational prayer ministry, when prayer support is offered to individuals by congregational prayer teams after services.

'Get Connected' slip prayer requests are prayed through by a group who meet to pray for prayer requests from the 'Get Connected' slip attached to the weekly newsletter at each service.

The prayer circle; for urgent prayer requests, or when a situation arises that needs prayer covering, a circle of prayers is initiated. Call Ruta on 9882 1153 or Kim on 9888 6674 and leave your prayer request.

Healing Prayer

The Healing Prayer Service on the first Wednesday of each month provides opportunity for anointing with oil, the Lord’s Supper and a time of praise and prayer ministry.

Healing Prayer by Appointment—A new ministry
The purpose of this healing prayer ministry through the direction and power of the Spirit, is to bring about the restoration of God’s created order in people’s lives and to lead people to look up to Jesus not being bound by the problem which presents itself. For some time there has been a need for this ministry, to support people with deeper needs. This ministry requires an extended time, 1-1 ½ duration, and is supported by a prayer team of two people, plus an intercession group. It follows a model which is used in many centres of healing prayer throughout the world. Access to this ministry is through appointment made to the
St Hilary's & St Silas Church office (9816 7100).
