Youth & Young Adults Community
Leader: Peter Carolane (carolane@shaccommunity.org.au)
Hi. My name is Peter and I am the leader of the youth and young adults at Shac Community. We are a group who are serious about our faith in Jesus. Our main objective is to change our world through the building of God's Kingdom.
Small Groups
One of the ways we meet during the week is in smaller groups of about 10-15 people. In the past we have likened these groups to small churches because in them we have aimed to do all the same things as a church. As a result, some of us call our groups Little church or LC.
In these groups we pray, eat a meal together and have fun. These groups aim to be a welcoming place where long lasting and meaningful friendships can grow.

Sunday Night Church
Every Sunday at 7pm, we all meet at Genazzano College, Centenary Hall for church.
The services are creative, with great music, prayer and teaching. The reason we have these services is to gather together week after week to encourage each other to keep going in our faith.
Most of all, we hope that on Sunday nights God will connect with us and change us through the words in the Bible, through his Spirit in our hearts and minds, and through his people in the community.
There are always lots of visitors on a Sunday night and so it is sometimes difficult for me to catch up with everyone who is new. So, if you come and visit, please introduce yourself to me or to someone else who has been up the front.
I wanna be forever young
There has been a long history of a growing and exciting youth work at our church. We have two groups.
- Wipeout: Years 7-9 CLICK HERE
- Three: Years 10-12 CLICK HERE
Traditionally, most church youth groups have been about going roller skating and ten pin bowling. Our youth groups are a bit different. We do have lots of fun, however, we put a big focus on developing our faith. About once a month, Wipeout meets for a night of youth worship and teaching called Refresh.
