What is Gumnuts?

"Gumnut" Families are those with children from 0 to Gr. Prep. St Hilary's & St Silas Church activites for Gumnut families include "Gumnuts on Sundays", "Gumnut Playgroups", "Mainly Music" and "Gumnut Specials".

Gumnuts on Sundays

Sunday morning activities usually commence at 9am in the Church with a time for the whole family. During school term time, a separate program is then provided for "Gumnuts" children (toddlers through to Prep) located around "The Playhouse". 

Gumnuts Playgroups

Parents and their infants and toddlers meet for a time of free play, stories, songs and craft.

Mainly Music

"Mainly Music" is an opportunity for adults and young children to build memories and spend time together, sharing special time with each other the aim of mainly music. "Mainly music" aims to provide an environment where young children develop skills to enhance their early education, through the use of music, rhythm, rhyme, and other music related activities with the participation of a parent or primary caregiver.

Baby on the way

"Baby on the Way" is a unique opportunity for women anticipating the birth of a child. Facilitated by Julie Hinds, the session includes times of prayer, time for relaxation and time to anticipate the upcoming birth experience.

"Baby on the Way" sessions are open to any pregnant women from the community and are held on an ad hoc basis throughout the year - with child-care for pre-school children usually available.

Gumnuts Specials

Many additional activities for Gumnut familes take place over the course of a year including Jumping Jellybeans concerts, Mother's Day Breakfast, and social events.
