Small Groups
At St Hilary’s the 9am and 11am congregations enjoy a variety of Small Group life. Many people who attend these services already enjoy being part of a small group and we’d love to see more people involved.
Small groups range in number of attendees from five to thirty five. Here are a variety of already existing groups:
- We have family groups who meet on a Sunday for lunch fortnightly
- Some groups meet Sunday afternoon while their teenage children meet at LC’s, years 10-12, for youth bible study
- Some groups meet week nights, some are adults only, some have children come along too
- There is a Friday evening group and while the adults attend their gathering their children who are in years seven to nine meet for Wipe Out (youth group)
- We have two women’s groups, called WOT, Women on Tuesday and Women on Thursday. They meet mid morning each week and there is a crèche provided if required
- Wednesday evenings a mens’ group meets
- We also have mixed groups on a Monday and Friday afternoon.
Most of the groups meet for approximately two to three hours and structure their time to include a social time, bible study time, and prayer. Some groups are more structured than others. There’s a group for everyone!
So, why should anyone join a small group? Well, at SHAC we believe that being part of a small group:
- helps new people get connected and allows strong relationships to develop
- gives an opportunity for you to learn more about the bible in a group setting with strong teaching. Learning together is a great way to study the bible
- support and care for each other pastorally
- helps develop your prayer life as you pray together
- it’s great fun! and more ……
If you are interested in finding out more about a small group contact Andrea Murray, the Small Groups Coordinator on andream@shac.com.au (anytime) or phone 98167126 (CAFM office) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
